WVMI is your state-based Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO).  As a QIO, we empower people with Medicare to participate in health care decision making and take an active role in managing their own health.  Specifically, we:

• Protect Medicare beneficiaries by reviewing quality complaints and applying what we learn to improve the way providers deliver health care.
• Contribute to safer, more effective care for you, as a result of our quality improvement work with local health care providers.
• Seek to learn from your experiences receiving health services so we can help providers deliver patient-centered care.
• Work to remove the socioeconomic, educational and cultural barriers that can prevent beneficiaries from have access to health care.
