- Watch RPA's 2009 ESRD Patient Safety Improvement Award winner and honorable mentions discuss their patient safety best practices in the new patient safety video. Share your own best practices to be considered for the 2010 ESRD Patient Safety Improvement Award. The awardees will be selected by a multi-disciplinary committee comprised of physicians, patients and other members of the renal health care team and will be honored at RPA's 2010 Annual Meeting in Baltimore in March.
- Adherence to Facility Procedures is a PowerPoint presentation focused on ways to improve patient safety at your facility and the Medical Director's role in patient safety. By working through the module, renal professionals will learn best practices for improving adherence to procedures, one of the five primary areas of needed improvement identified in the Health and Safety Survey to Improve Patient Safety in End Stage Renal Disease.

Keeping Kidney Patients Safe is a clearinghouse for information on kidney patient safety, including resources to assist facility medical directors meet the quality assessment and performance improvement (QAPI) requirements outlined in the CMS Conditions for Coverage for ESRD Facilities. The web site also features educational modules on patient falls, hand hygiene and medication omission or errors to aid nephrology professionals in keeping patients safe.
