WVMI's health care quality improvement projects are funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to protect the rights and health of West Virginians with Medicare. We are dedicated to helping you get the best possible care from your Medicare health care providers. Our services are free.

All people with Medicare have basic rights. You have the right to:

• Receive quality health care
• Be admitted to the hospital when it is medically necessary
• Stay in the hospital until it is medically safe to leave
• Appeal if you believe your Medicare-covered services from a skilled nursing facility, a home health agency, a comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facility, or hospice are ending too soon
