Lifeline Television Show
Lifeline is a weekly 30-minute television program focusing on health and Medicare information for West Virginia seniors. Since 1995, the West Virginia Medical Institute (WVMI) has produced this show to educate Medicare beneficiaries and their loved ones on healthy living, and to provide Medicare program updates. Lifeline airs on the Library Television Network in over 200,000 households throughout the state. Check your local cable listings for the West Virginia Library Television Network (WVLC) for times and channel listings.
Recent topics covered on Lifeline include Medicare rights; Medicare preventive health screenings (such as mammography, diabetes screening and immunizations); and other health-related topics such as asthma, fitness, and even electronic health records. Many of Lifeline's topics are also covered in its companion print newsletter, also called Lifeline.
WVMI will provide DVD or VHS copies of Lifeline free of charge to groups and individuals. If you’re interested in receiving a free copy of the television show, or signing up for its companion newsletter, please contact Lifeline Host Marc McCombs, WVMI's Director of Corporate Communications. Contact Marc with any comments about the show or suggestions for future topics.
Also contact Marc if you would like to be a guest on Lifeline, or have an event you would like covered on the program. We would love to help publicize your event or health-related topic with our thousands of regular viewers.
